Back To St Mary's Church

Friends of Nonington Church

Who are the Friends?

We are a group of people, not all members of the church, who care about the long term future of St Mary’s Church. Our main objective is to raise funds for the maintenance and improvement of the church which belongs to and is there for the whole village. The building contains a wealth of history both in terms of its architecture and the social development of the village of Nonington.

When were the Friends established?

The Friends of Nonington Church was formed at a meeting in March 2002 following an enthusiastic response from the residents of the village. We are a Registered Charity No. 1096881.

Why do we need the Friends?

Because the church members are no longer able to afford all the cost of maintaining the building as well as church expenses, which include their share of the clergy’s salary, the costs of church services, heating, lighting and other ‘housekeeping’ expenses.

Who can join?

Anyone who cares about the long term future of St Mary’s.

How much does it cost to become a Friend?

We ask for a subscription of £10 annually per person. You can become a Friend by joining on-line.  You can pay your annual membership fee of £10 through PayPal and although payment will be in GBP, if you are paying from outside the UK currency conversion will be automatic. Opening a PayPal account is very easy and FREE and VERY SAFE.
