NONINGTON PARISH COUNCIL Report of a meeting held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 5th September 2007 The flooding outside the Village Hall is, hopefully, going to be managed with a soakaway being dug outside the main doors of the Village Hall, permission has been given for this by the Village Hall committee. SEEDA and the development at Aylesham should donate some money for road improvements through the village, and Highways will present the proposals at a village meeting. The area from the Cricket Club to the roundabout is a problem area and would need maximum safety features. This could also include the cutting back of vegetation on the bend opposite the entrance to the Cricket Club. Highways are also looking at giving us a footpath up Vicarage Lane, which we have been requesting for many years, to encourage a Walking Bus for the children going to school. Snowdown Working Men’s Club. A letter was received from the Committee asking us for a letter of support to strengthen their applications for funding. The Parish Council were happy to do this but did ask that some of the money is spent on the outside of the buildings which needs a lot of work to bring it up to acceptable levels. Also the ground surrounding the building is in need of a great deal of work. A parishioner asked about the missing footpath signs through the village, the Clerk has been in contact with the relevant office and we have been informed that the maintenance contractor has a list of about 200 to do in this area, they will be contacting him to see when they can be erected/repaired. The next Parish Council Meeting will be held in the Dolphins Hall on Wednesday 7th November at 7.30 p.m. Mrs Linda Player, Clerk to Nonington Parish Council 01304 840410
