Police Community Support Officer. PC Nicki Steel attended the meeting together with PC David Keningale. We now have two beat officers covering Nonington PC David Keningale and PCSO Katie Parker-Brown they would like to attend our bi-monthly meetings and help where they can with any problems that arise in the village. The problem of speeding vehicles was mentioned and PC Keningale said that he would request the use of a hand held speed gun to target offenders. PACT is a formal link between officers and the Parish Council, which the Council agreed to join, together with some 40 other parishes who have already joined. This gives us direct access to the officers who cover our village so any problems can be targeted immediately.

Grant via Dover North Forum re storage for village organisations – although this is not yet in our Bank account £1,000 has been promised to us. This will purchase two sheds one for the Village Hall for use by them and the Toddler Group, and one for placement in the garden at Lower Lodge as a storage facility for all the other village organisations.

Fencing for Playground – this is now complete although there is still some tidying up to do which the Friday morning crew are tackling. If anyone would like to help with this then meet in the Playground at 10.30 on Friday mornings.

Kent Air Ambulance Trust – contribution, it was agreed unanimously to send a donation to the trust in the sum of £250.

Snowdown Regeneration Forum. This is not a good situation at the moment as it appears the Forum is splitting into groups. To achieve anything we have all got to work together. The Nonington Heritage Group have been asked to resign and they have all done so. We still need one or two villagers to become involved with this as all our representatives at the moment are Councillors.
